Christopher Scott’s average surgery recovery time is 45-60 days.As the founder of Opulent Credit Builders (OCB) and Chicago’s sole MBE-certified credit builder,he is known as the “credit doctor” for hundreds of “patients” ranging from celebrities, public figures and professional athletes to single moms, small business owners and C-suite executives.

Whether on a house call or working from his downtown offices, Scott’s uses surgical precision to help his “patients” understand their credit reports; identify inaccuracies, outdated information and other cancerous blemishes; then, make the necessary appeals to the three main credit bureaus to get those items removed. Post-op, clients experience higher credit scores (an average of 60-150 points), lower interest rates for home and auto purchases, as well as greater ease in workplace advancement. He boasts a 97% success rate.

Scott’s personal mission to positively impact the credit reports of as many people as possible began with his first denial… of an American Express corporate card. At that time, he was owner of a beauty salon and day spa in Harvey, IL; and his credit application was denied due to late student loan payments and prior unpaid debts and collections.

After an introduction to a client’s colleague who owned a mortgage consulting company, Scott successfully opened and operated a boutique staffing firm that enabled ex-offenders to repair their credit and (re)enter the workforce. Then, following a brief stint with a large credit repair agency, he realized he could help more people by working with them directly.

The result for this serial entrepreneur: the launch of Opulent Credit Builders in 2010. Since then, he has been responsible for cleaning up the credit reports and increasing credit scores for clients representing various industries and professions.

In 2018, Scott released “CREDIT: What you don’t know can hurt you,” which serves as a credit PDR (physician’s desk reference). And, after tying the knot later that year, he and wife, Te’Dora, became the co-hosts of “A.M. with the Scotts” which airs weekdays at 11 a.m. CST on iHeart Radio’s Inspiration 1390 AM
